The facility is featured with the best Hi-end neonatal ICU with the most modern technology and equipment, which was inaugurated by Music Director, Lyricist Padma Shri Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri.

Diaper rashes are the most common health issues experienced by newborns due to the irregular and infrequent replacement of diapers, which leads to the development of mild to severe redness on the baby's buttocks. The severity of rashes accelerates the chances of contracting fever and widespread rashes. Our Neonatologist, Dr Shabana, prescribes the necessary medication and suggestions that a parent should be aware of to help their baby get rid of diaper rashes and related illnesses. Our neonatology specialist also assists in sharing valuable insights on storing pumped breast milk conditions and the suitable storage medium.

Stomach pain, Intussusception, Asthma, Hernia, and Kidney infections are some of the most common health issues in children suffer from.

In most cases, children below the age of two years suffer stomach pain due to constipation. Children express their health issues by pulling their legs up to their stomachs when they find it difficult to bear the pain. Our child specialist Dr Ramakrishnan treats the patient, following the healthcare industry's best diagnostic procedure to identify the origin and causes of health problem. A bloated belly or belly filled with gas, frequent vomiting, and blood in the stool are symptoms of stomach pain in babies.

For children aged between two and four years, a constipation condition called Mesenteric Adenitis or stomach flu can be observed. Most children suffering from stomach pain in this age group result in viral infection. Children suffering from stomach flu experience the symptoms such as abdomen pain, fever, nausea and vomiting, and Diarrhoea. Our pediatric consultant prescribes nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories to stop the progression and reduce stomach pain.

For children above five years, Asthma, appendicitis, hernia, and kidney infection, are the most commonly observed health problems.

Asthma: Childhood asthma is a lung disease where the lungs and airways can easily get inflamed when they have a cold or are around things like pollen. The symptoms may make it hard for the child to sleep and make daily activities difficult. Frequent coughing, less energy during play, chest tightness, rapid breathing, wheezing, and trouble eating are a few symptoms of Asthma in children. At Starcare Hospital, our child specialists provide efficient treatment, including Inhalers and short-acting beta-agonists (SABA), to reduce asthma illnesses.

The dosage and medication duration varies with the children's prevailing asthma conditions. Our paediatricians include home remedies such as breathing exercises and medication, increasing the treatment efficacy. Our Paediatric Specialists educate parents and children with instructions to prevent the chances of suffering due to Asthma by keeping the child away from dust allergies and frequently changing the bedsheets and room curtains.

Appendicitis: It is an abdominal pain around the belly button of the abdomen. The pain increases while walking, jumping, or coughing; loss of appetite and fever are the symptoms. It is mainly caused by an obstruction at the opening of the child's appendix. Our Paediatrician suggests treatment options such as antibiotics and surgery, depending on the severity and further appendicitis progression.

If left untreated, the appendix can burst open and spread bacteria throughout the abdomen that cause a severe infection called peritonitis. The bacteria may also infect the bloodstream causing a condition called sepsis. At Starcare Hospital, our doctors diagnose children with an abdominal X-ray, ultrasound, and CT scans to collect precise details and provide the best efficient treatment. Our hospital is incorporated with a world-class facility to offer Laparoscopic surgery or minor incision surgery, to remove the appendix. The child will receive intravenous pain medication and antibiotics like ampicillin or metronidazole will be given.

Hernia: It is a lump or swelling near the belly button of a child. Pain and tenderness around the lower belly can be seen. It happens because of a weakness in the abdomen muscles since birth. At Starcare Hospital, our surgeon performs a small cut in the child's groin skin. The procedure is followed by pushing the hernia's contents back into the child's abdomen's original position and closing the opening in the inguinal canal to prevent the future development of the hernia.

Intussusception: a condition in which the part of the intestine slides inside an adjacent part. Symptoms are vomiting and stool mixed with mucus and blood. Our Paediatrician treat illnesses by using an enema to push the intestine back into place. In severe cases, our specialists suggest laparoscopic surgery as a treatment option. Our dietician recommends food diets comprising fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads, beans and fish. Depending on the children's health recovery potential, the duration for complete recovery varies.

Kidney infections: The most common kidney infection is a bacterial urinary tract infection. The bacteria get into the bladder or kidneys, triggering inflammation, and the kidneys respond by producing more urine, leading to dehydration. Our Paediatric Specialist provides effective treatment and medication, such as antibiotics, to stabilize kidney health.
