Our Team of Cardiologists performed the first-ever TMVR operation successfully in Kerala

In matters of the heart, Starcare Hospital, Calicut has now become the largest Cardiac speciality centres offering comprehensive heart care, diagnostics and treatment under one roof. Yesterday an elderly patient who has undergone an open surgery 10 years ago and admitted to one of the hospitals in Kannur and spent several days with difficulty in breathing and was found to be unfit for surgery. She was then referred to Starcare hospital, Calicut. The cardiac team led by Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Ali Faizal, Dr. Jayesh Bhaskaran, Dr. Sajid Yonus and Dr. Muhammad Ameen has taken care of the patient and conducted the first ever TMVR successfully. By doing so, Starcare has become one of the few centres in Kerala having the capability of performing the complex keyhole valve replacement procedure.
